Scholarships for students who do creative activities and researches
Kyoto University of Art and Design has scholarships evaluating and supporting the students who work on researches and creative activities enthusiastically.

Kyoto University of Art and Design Scholarship (benefit)
This scholarship supports students who excel at researches and creative activities.

Eligible students: the senior students
Decision: about 20 persons
Payment amount: 100,000 yen

Sozankai Scholarship for creative activities and research (benefit)
This scholarship supports students who work on unique researches and creative activities secularly and systematically.

Eligible students: students from the freshman to the junior
Decision: 1ST ; Documentary elimination 2ND Interview
Payment amount: maximum 2,000,000 yen (with assessment)
Announcement of results: Intakes are supposed to have make presentations at next Nov (at school festival).

Sozankai Scholarship for cultural activities (benefit)
This scholarship supports students who work on extracurricular researches and presentations externally, such as one-man exhibitions and group exhibitions.

Applications: application form
Period for application: anytime
Payment amount: 50% of the amount needed for activities (maximum 50,000 yen)

Scholarship for students who study abroad
This scholarship supports students who study at foreign universities or research institutes with school expense and living expense in foreign countries. (It is limited to one year and regular education.)

General Scholarships
Scholarship of The Japan Scholarship Foundation
This scholarship supports students who excel at studying and are healthy, whose continuation of study is difficult for economical reasons. It has two plans, "the first category" (without interest) and "Kibo 21 Plan (hope 21 paln)". "The first category"is for students whose academic ability and household economy fill the regulation of Japan Scholarship Foundation, and 53,000yen is paid a month for students who live with family and 63,000yen for students who live alone. In "Kibo 21 Plan", regulation is a little loose than "the first category", and students can choose one among 30,000yen p/m course, 50,000yen p/m course, 80,000yen p/m course and 100,000yen p/m course.



Scholarship of Local authority or Non-governmental Scholarship Association

Local authorities such as local board of education and non-governmental scholarship associations also have original scholarship systems. About what is invited through a university, we announce you on the bulletin board of the student affairs division. About what is not invited through a university, please ask local board of education and non-governmental scholarship associations directly by yourself.

Scholarship of Kato Scholarship Association
Kato Scholarship Association was founded for the purpose of contributing to social development and social welfare by performing scholarship supports to excellent students and training of talented people. This scholarship is given to students who have trouble in study for economical reason in spite of being high-achieving, healthy and of high moral. 30,000 yen is paid a month.

Educational Loan
In order to reduce the economical burden while at school,students can use the educational loan tied-up with UFJ bank or Mizuho bank. Compared with a general loan, you can use this at low interest rates as an educational fund required for student life such as tuition and lodgings expense. About the interest while at school, the university has filled up as a scholarship.

University Scholarship
This scholarship aims to support students who have difficulty in studying for economical reasons although they want to study.



Kyoto University of Art and Design's reduction of tuition fee system (benefit)

Eligible students: students from the sophomore to the senior
Intake: about 60 persons
Decision: Household economy; about the half of annual income of Survey of Household Economy by Ministry of Public Management, Home Affairs, Posts and Telecommunications, and under first class (salary income: less than 4,690,000 yen, other income: less than 1,220,000yen)
Credit: student must get not less than standard number of credits.
Period of payment: one year (extension is possible by reapplication)
Reducing amount: 200,000 yen

Kyoto University of Art and Design's Scholarship (loan)

Payment amount: the half of the annual tuition fee (maximum)
Eligible students: all students
Restitution: It must be restituted after graduate

Sozankai Scholarship (loan)

Payment amount: the half of the annual tuition fee (maximum)
Eligible students: all students
Restitution: It must be restituted after graduate
